What do a bad boyfriend, a vengeful elf, and an ancient prophecy have in common? One small, native woman- and her life just got very complicated. Marie Claire loved her solitary little camp. It was quiet, the hunting was good, and she could grieve her parent’s deaths in peace. It was perfect until she began to suspect she was being followed. His father had been betrayed. Now the tall grey elf, magicked to a false death, exiled to an unknown realm, fought for his life so he might avenge his father’s murder. The evil pair would kill everyone if he did not get back soon. As for the dreams that told him to ‘morph’, they were just dreams. The young elf tried to ignore them. They were known to be wildly unpredictable, these humans. He had a language barrier and no idea where he was. He needed help. Time was running out for all the elves in Dimueil. Now he had found the only help that might get him home-if he could just convince the human.

Rob, fresh out of college, is determined to follow in his father’s footstep as a commercial lobsterman along the rocky coast of Maine. Economic obstacles crush his dream and he contemplates taking the easy path to ‘fast’ money. A gamble that could test his true grit.

Meanwhile, Rob befriends Lisa, the beautiful daughter of Clarence Canterbury, a successful motion picture magnet. He is determined that Lisa, his only child, will have the very best that life has to offer. Rob falls deeply in love with Lisa, a girl that some consider out of Rob’s league.

Her father has contracted to film an adventure motion picture along the rugged coast of Maine. Lisa encourages her father to hire Rob as a stuntman for the dangerous filming. Rob, financially ruined, could not turndown such a lucrative offer.

Rob’s friends, Jack and Dick, continue with their marijuana scheme without Rob’s participation and end up as victims of a police raid. Jack and Dick blame Rob as a turncoat, and bring in mobsters to hunt down Rob as a spoiler to their illegal scheme.

Mobsters kidnap Lisa and place a three million dollar ransom on her life. While Rob wonders how he can save Lisa, the mobsters are determined to make Rob pay with his own life for disrupting their marijuana deal.

Join Rob in the twist and turns of life’s struggles, and learn of the ‘challenges’ for the Nuevo riche and the middle-class. It is a roller-coaster ride of adventure, and romance: “Challenges”

The Story of Estrella tells the tale of a nine year old girl with strength of heart, who is called upon by the elders of her village to rescue her land, the Forest of Stars, from the hold of the Shadow Hand. The Hand is a creature of the dark realms who has stolen the Book of the Tale, the Book that records all that passes in the Forest as it unfolds. The Shadow Hand intends to re-write the Book in his image, placing himself as sovereign over the darkened world. Estrella agrees to undertake the elders’ appeal with the aid of Mystal, the enchanting Horsewoman, who acts as her guide. After overcoming a series of trials, Estrella faces the Shadow Hand. A struggle ensues, the young girl retrieves the Book of the Tale and destroys the dark creature, thereby saving her land.

They fish the dangerous waters in the Gulf of Maine, giving total vigilance to the weather and the seasons. Lobestering is their only source of income. Trapping lobster is in their blood, a part of their genes, an inheritance from generations of hauling lobsters and deep-sea fishing. This story is about the adventures, dangers, and passions that Tom Harpswell has experienced during his life of hauling lobsters. He knows the dangers that lurk with every trip out of the Deep Cover. He has lost friends and family to the sea. In the bak of his mind, he wonders if he will be next. like many small Maine seacoast hamlets, the tribulations of life’s unexpected tragedies are graphically revealed.

Competition is immense amongst lobstermen. However, they band together, sometimes taking the law into their own hands during a lobster war, as portrayed in this novel. The explosive encounter these haulers have with lobster poachers reinforces the bond among the lobstermen of Deep Cove, Maine.

By 78 year old Eugene Elcik of Maine. While fighting off aggressive cancer, Gene finished his first novel, desperation of souls.

Synopsis: Looking out a car window, one would think Ocean Bay, Maine to be a quiet, quaint little town. However, behind closed doors, turmoil erupts as Chris catches his stepfather forcing himself on his daughter. Follow Chris as he deals with his stepfather, falls in love with a woman from a wealthy, off-limits family, is seduced by a traitor, and is implicated in a murder. While roadblocks of many types are placed in his way, Chris keeps fighting, but will his efforts be all for nothing?
